How to Keep the Open Work Watch Running
Share
The Open Work Watch does not use a battery but features an automatic mechanical movement, meaning it is powered by the kinetic motion of your wrist.
How to Keep the Open Work Watch Running
If the watch has stopped running, follow these steps to start it up and keep it running smoothly:
- Initial Manual Winding:
- Leave the crown in its normal (closed) position.
- Turn the crown clockwise around 20–30 times to manually wind the mainspring and build up the initial power reserve.
- Set the Time:
- Gently pull the crown out to the time-setting position.
- Turn the crown to adjust the hands to the correct time.
- Push the crown back firmly into its original position to ensure water resistance (3 ATM).
- Daily Wear (Automatic Self-Winding):
Simply wearing the watch on your wrist throughout the day provides enough motion for the internal weighted rotor to continuously wind the mainspring automatically.
Note: If the watch is left unworn for more than 24 to 40 hours, it will naturally run out of power and pause. Repeat the initial winding steps above whenever you put it back on.
